Video express suites are all over campus to do green screen work. Bring in PowerPoint of background to see real time view of yourself.

·      How to light for our green screen?
·      The Green screen should be flat and the same color through out. Need hardly any shadows on the green screen.
·      The more even the screen is the better.
·      Add new item
o   Move video to V2
o   Replace the V1 with background
o   Unlink if moving horizontally, not vertically
o   Unlink to change or remove audio layer
o   If background is a still image you can extend it to the length of the pairing video
o   Change speed duration for still images, default is usually present.
·      Double arrow in project window
o   Click effects
§  Search Ultra Key
§  Can handle not so nice backgrounds
§  Drag and Drop to the Video with the green screen
·      Not quite there yet
·      Double click project we dragged and dropped it too
·      Effect controls
o   Find Ultra Key after applying it
o   Define Key color
§  Click eye dropper (Samples 1 pixel)
§  Sample in darkest area in program window
§  Command eyedropper samples 5 pixels
o   Ultra Key
§  Output
·      Alpha Channel
·      Shows you the problems you need to fix
·      Goal is black background and white figure
o   Matte Generation
§  Highlight
·      Set to 0 and it already fixes lots of the highlight issues
§  Transparency
·      Up is more definition but is not good
·      Make figure white by going down
§  Pedestal
·      Up blackens the background
§  Sample in the working window to see if it is working throughout the footage
§  Compression Artifacts my be present.
§  Fine tune static
·      Matte Cleanup
o   Zoom in with percentage
o   Choke
§  Bring up to refine pixels
o   Soften
§  Blurs and softens the edges
·      Spill Suppression
o   Effects in project window
§  Crop
§  Drag and drop to video you want it for
§  Define in Effect Controls in Source window
§  If it has a stopwatch you can animate it
o   Effect Controls in Source window
§  Motion
·      Scale to resize image

·      You can also double click and the blue window goes around the image in the Program screen and you can scale and move there.
